Drag racing lost another legend last week with the passing of Brian Keegan.
Keegan – honoured with an inuagural ANFA Pioneer Award in 2011 – is best known for his street driven FX Holden that he fabricated almost everything on himself.
He was the first to run a 13 second pass using a six cylinder with the FX and later was the first to run a 12 second pass in his six cylinder competition Holden. He also had run a superchared Y Block Ford powered dragster at Castlereagh in 1960, later ran a 179 Holden powered rail as well.
Brian Keegan born 31/7/1933, passed away 24/8/ 2015 after 82 years of a great Life.
Brian is survived by his wife Gai, children Wendy, Deborah, Michael and stepdaughter Kylie Marsh, Siblings John, Judy, Helen, Peter and Jayne and ten grandchildren. Brian was predeceased by his first wife Margaret.
