The drag racing world was saddened on Sunday to learn of the passing of Gary Miocevich.
Miocevich was the managing director of Perth Motorplex until he retired due to health issues last year.
Miocevich was the driving force behind getting the Motorplex, a government-owned venue, built to cater for both speedway and drag racing. He was a member of the ANDRA Hall of Fame and was a dedicated racer as well as an important figure in the administration of the sport, competing in everything from supercharged funny cars to jet dragsters.
Perth Motorplex track chaplain Terry Dorrington has advised that Gary’s funeral will be held on Monday 9 February at 2pm at Fremantle Cemetery. Dress is casual at family request, be early.
