Queensland Super Sedan racer Chris Van’tHof has taken the supercharged plunge, purchasing a 1963 split window Corvette for Supercharged Outlaws.
“I am stepping out of my 68 Camaro and into the Corvette with my wife Debra who will hopefully take over the driver seat in that from her V6 Gemini,” said Van’tHof.
The car was bought out of Missouri USA and is a brand new Jerry Bickel built chrome-moly car.
It has been IHRA certified for six seconds though it has never been raced and will be running a 572ci Rodeck beneath a 14/71 Littlefield blower.
“My intentions are to run in Supercharged Outlaws and as many as the Nostalgia events that I can,” he said.
“This new car is going to a whole new learning curve for me which is what I am most excited about.
“Colin Gardner who has the red Wild Bunch Pinto will be closely guiding me with all the setups and teaching me all about blower engines and tuning them.”
Van’tHof will join at least two other Queensland Super Sedan racers making the move to Supercharged Outlaws in the new season.
