Victor Bray has joined the Australian motorsport elite today, (Mar 30 2023), being inducted into the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame during a public ceremony held in conjunction with the first day of the Australian F1 Grand Prix.

Prior to today, just 84 Australian motorsport identities have been honoured in the the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame, they have now been joined by Joan Richmond, Remo Luciani, John Goss and Victor Bray.

Easily Australia’s most recognisable and well known drag racer, and a hero to many, the Queensland tomato farmer, known for his showmanship with those trademark long smoky burnouts, was a headline act for decades with a string of 1957 Chevs.

His impact on the sport helped bring about the introduction of Top Doorslammer, the class Bray set multiple world records in, all while winning six consecutive national championships.

We congratulate Victor Bray on this wonderful recognition within Australian motorsport.

Thank you to Brett Keating of Automotive Event Images for these great pics of Victor’s induction at the Albert Park Fan Forum Stage this afternoon.
