The General certainly would not had ever thought this would be possible when the first HQ rolled off the production line now over 50 years ago.

Dan Szabolics punched out a 6.65 at 214MPH from his street driven HQ in testing for this weekend’s Midnight Mayhem event. And if there is any doubt to the HQ’s street status, Szabolics will once again be competing in the ultimate street test that is Street Machine’s Drag Challenge.

The HQ weighs in at a meaty 3100 plus pounds, the mid six second ETs are powered by a 510ci Brodix big block with twin 94mm turbos. The personal best run had a dramatic end when the chutes failed to blossom, Szabolic’s into the Sydney Dragway kitty litter.

Entered into the Pro Street Villain class for this Saturday’s Midnight Mayhem quarter mile radial event at Sydney Dragway, every one will be on notice.
