New South Wales’ Stuart Bennett took an axe to the Australian LS-motor record over the weekend at the Grudge Kings event, knocking out a stunning 6.391 and a speed of 225.22mph.
Bennett, a former championship winner on off-road bikes (who featured in Drag News Magazine #33 by the way), recently upgraded the turbos to twin Garrett GTX4720 Gen IIs and the increase in horsepower certainly showed, as he knocked off over three tenths of a second from his previous best ET and added about 15mph!
The old record of 6.587 was held by Western Australia’s Sam Gullotto (who featured on the cover of Drag News Magazine #40).
