Michelle Davies ticked off a hard fought racing goal to run a five second pass last Friday night at Sydney Dragway.
There have a been a few trials and tribulations in Davies short Pro Slammer career with her Mustang on route to her five second goal, and with promising short times in recent events the team put together a 5.973 at 235mph at last Friday’s Full Throttle Friday event at Sydney Dragway.
“Well, I really don’t know where to start, last night we ticked a box we thought was only ever going to a dream. To my beautiful wife Shell, you are my hero, my rock, and my inspiration, and to hear your reaction on the radio while you were still in the braking area, and to see your smile and reaction after that run made all the late nights, challenges and setbacks worth it, and you earned it with a killer drive job going the long way,” said Gareth Davies on Facebook.
The run makes Davies only the second woman to run a five second pass in a sedan in Australia, some ten years after Kath Stevens achieved the feat with a 5.96. Now the team can focus on stepping on the potential of their Pro Slammer and surpass Stevens’ benchmark.
