Everyone loves to go to the beach – unless the beach is at the drag strip. The U.S Nationals over the weekend have seen several unwanted trips to the Indy beach.
Ron Capps was the first to sufferer a brake failure needing to call on his dirt track skills to try and save his Nitro Funny Car from being torn up in the catch net. Capp’s delivered an emotional post-race interview to the NHRA describing the U.S Nationals qualifying incident.
Capps had the protection of a chassis around him, imagine the thoughts going through Pro Stock Bike rider Anthony Vanetti’s mind as he was about to hurtle into the sand trap. Fortunately Vanetti was able to separate himself from his unstoppable ride and avoid any injury.
