Southeast Queensland’s Warwick Dragway has changed sanctioning but not from ANDRA to IHRA, instead choosing a third option.
In a statement from the track, Warwick Drgway announced to competitors that they had moved to RACERS, a sanctioning body which is based at Queensland Raceway. They cater for recreational and grassroots racing at a regional level.
The statement explained that RACERS has insurance cover which is comparable with the other two sanctioning bodies (ANDRA and IHRA) and Warwick Dragway will recognise the credentials of both bodies (medicals and tech).
However, competitors will need to purchase an event license (day license) for a fee of $20 or a yearly license for a fee of $65. This license is recognised at Queensland Raceway and Lakeside drag race type events.
According to the venue, the move will allow Warwick Dragway the ability to do tech inspections for events, issue competition licenses and make changes for roll cage requirements to be based on speed, not ET. More details about the sanctioning body are available at www.racers.world.
