Nitro Slam 2022 to replace Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars due to ongoing border closure.
Following the WA Premier’s announcement that the State borders will remain closed until at least the end of January, the Perth Motorplex and the management of the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars (AONFC) regret to confirm that the AONFC event originally scheduled for the 8th of January 2022, has been cancelled.
The event will be replaced on the calendar by Nitro Slam 2022, which will host some of the country’s best Top Doorslammers and Nitro cars in an action-packed event supported by a full program of on and off-track entertainment.
“It is certainly disappointing that we can’t head to the Perth Motorplex for another year, but we are certainly making plans to return to the Motorplex as soon as we can and put on a show for the WA fans,” Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars Series Manager, Morice Mcmillan, said.
While the AONFC won’t be visiting the Motorplex in 2022, their naming rights sponsor Aeroflow will continue its support of the venue in their absence and recently signed a new lane sponsorship arrangement for Aeroflow and Rocket Industries.
“While we will unfortunately have to wait another year to welcome the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars back to the Motorplex, we are thankful for the ongoing support of the Series and its sponsor and their commitment to work towards a return in 2023,” Evolve Facilities Management Commercial and Operations Manager, Paul Trengove, said.
“While we await that return, we excitedly look forward to the Nitro Slam 2022 event which will replace the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars on the calendar in January.
“From Top Doorslammers to Nitro Cars, a full program of on-track entertainment and a bustling off-track program including a Pit Party and something for all the family, Nitro Slam 2022 will be an action-packed event that shouldn’t be missed!”
