Ex Super Gas racer Shannon Gaddes is about to make the little step up into his brand new and very extravagant Supercharged Outlaw Altered.
“I purchased it a few years ago overseas with a 68’Charger Funny car body but decided to change it over to an altered body because it’s a bit crazier behind the wheel and I like the wind in my face!” said Gaddes.
With a 526ci Keith Black and a 14/71 blower on top charging this beast down the track Shannon has certain expectations and after a short stint racing for the Junkyard Dog Racing team in which he wants to beat his personal best elapsed time of a 6.70 @ 200.20mph.
“If it doesn’t run in the 6 second zone I’m going to throw a match onto it!” he said.
And just like every other racer out there Shannon has one particular goal in mind he would like to obtain.
“I want to build a fire place with a mantle on top in my house but I’m missing that elusive gold Christmas Tree to place on top. I need that first before being able to build it,” he said.
First things first though for Shannon he just wants to get back out on track and have the car running hard and consistent with this year’s Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway hopefully being the debut meet for the brand new car.
With the attention to detail and fine looking paint this is one car you need to stop by and check out next time you are at the track.
Nothing like this could ever be possible without the help of sponsors and friends but in particular Shannon would like to thank Ian Boettcher Race Parts (www.ianboettcherraceparts.com.au) located in Ipswich for their help and support.
