It is all systems go for the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals as the final stages of Willowbank Raceway’s track surface upgrades near completion.
The final surface grind on the all concrete Willowbank Raceway racing surface is all but complete with the exhausting process of laying down fresh rubber well underway.
The track will feature a new concrete surface from where the existing concrete ends – which has all been ground and re-ground smooth – past the finish line before transitioning into the new asphalt braking area surface that runs into a reworked turn-around area.
The track’s new LED lights will illuminate the brand new surface to a TV lighting standard, and many other improvement have been made around the venue include in new and upgraded toilet facilities.
The Winternationals will host the final round of the NDRC Professional series for all brackets and the Eastern Conference Grand Final for the NDRC Aeroflow Sportsman Championship Series on Jun 6-9.
