With a brand-new racing surface, a perfect weather forecast, and a bumper crowd expected, Hydraulink Jim Read Racing cannot wait to head to Willowbank Raceway in sunny Queensland for the season-ending Winternationals this weekend.
At what is the final round of the 2023/2024 Australian Top Fuel title chase, the Top Fuel teams will hit the track Friday afternoon for a test hit before two rounds of qualifying on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s racing.
“The track is looking fantastic, and we absolutely cannot wait to get out there and race on it ourselves,” Hydraulink Jim Read Racing driver, Phil Read, said.
“The Winternationals is a really special event on the drag racing calendar, so to be heading back there is very exciting and with a perfect weather forecast and a huge crowd expected, it should be a fantastic event.
“It has been a long season for us, with a lot of highs and a lot of lows, and hopefully the Winternats can provide a perfect end on a high for us for the 2023/2024 season!”
Hydraulink Jim Read Racing has tasted plenty of success at Willowbank Raceway in the past.
“Both dad (Jim Read) and Phil have had fabulous success at the Winternats over the years,” Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Crew Chief, Bruce Read, said.
“We have celebrated event wins and championships there, and our team has always felt a great affinity with the Winternats and Willowbank Raceway – we even used to count Willowbank as our home track back in the day.
“To say we are looking forward to this weekend is a massive understatement; by all accounts it is shaping up to be an absolutely huge event and we can’t wait to put on the best Top Fuel show we can for a packed crowd.”
