Ten of the world’s quickest and fastest sport compact racers will take to the Willowbank Raceway quarter mile on Friday and Saturday 6th and 7th of June as Factory Xtreme showcase the very best side-by-side turbocharged drag racing on the planet.
In a category that sees fire breathing four and six cylinders vehicles up against the fastest rotary engines around, low six-second performances and world record performances are their stock in trade.
Kiwi Factory Xtreme powerhouse Rod Harvey took his 2JZ straight-six powered Toyota Celica to new heights running an impressive world record 376km/h (234mph) at the recent X-Champs at Sydney Dragway, claiming the title as fastest Toyota on the planet.
Likewise, the world’s fastest rotary vehicle, the Pac Performance Mazda 6 SP reset its own record to 6.353sec, taking it to within one tenth of a second of the coveted world rotary record, a mark the Sydney-based team will undoubtedly be looking to retake at the 2014 Fuchs Winternationals.
Nissan fans are in for a special treat with a battle of the twin-turbocharged V6s as the world’s fastest sport compact car, Scott Porter’s G35 Infiniti takes on the world’s quickest and fastest GT-R driven by Mark Jacobsen. These six-second beasts will face off in one of seven exhibitions scheduled over two days at the largest drag racing event in the southern hemisphere.
The 2014 Fuchs Winternationals runs from the 5th – 8th of June at Willowbank Raceway, Champions Way, Willowbank QLD. Tickets are available at the gate or online from www.willowbankraceway.com.au.
