OK this just happened! The EKanoo Racing team out of the Middle East have stunned even themselves by blasting a 5.77 at a crazy 247mph during an event at Bahrain Drag Racing Circuit.
Looking to establish the team themselves firmly as the quickest Sport Compact team in the world – and silence some critics – the team were aiming for the first 5.8 second pass for the breed at round three of the BDRC drag racing series.
With US Sport Compact racer extraordinaire Gary White behind the wheel of the 2JZ powered Pro Import GT-86 went 0.953 to the sixty, and an incredible 3.81 at half distance to stop the clocks a 5.774 – an impressive feat no matter your drag racing persuasion.
