XIBERRAS ANNOUNCES DRAG RACING BREAK

In a short statement to the PremiAir Racing Facebook page, Peter Xiberras has announced that, due to a combination of business and personal reasons, he will not be racing the Premiair Hire Top Fuel Dragster at events for the remainder of the current NDRC season.

“This is definitely NOT a retirement announcement, but I have a number of work and personal priorities that mean I cannot give drag racing the focus I need to perform at my best for the rest of this season,” said Xiberras.

“I’m taking the next few months to assess where I’m at for next season. I had an amazing race meeting when we won the Westernationals, so I’m going into this next period with that experience front of mind. I love the racing, I love the rivalries, and I’m very positive about the future of drag racing in Australia.”

After missing the first round of this season’s championship due to business commitments, Xiberras returned to the NDRC series at Willowbank Raceway’s New Year Nitro. After a few struggles at their first event the team rebounded with the former Australian Champion taking an impressive win at the Westernationals in Perth leaping him to fourth in the championship points. The next NDRC Top Fuel championship will be moving to a calendar year, not due to blast off in early 2026.
