YBI Creative and the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars will continue their partnership, with the marketing agency taking a more involved ongoing role to develop the new nitro category and its events held all over Australia.
The inaugural event was held at Sydney Dragway in late 2013 and featured one of the world’s best-known drag racing stars, Ron Capps.
The series now boasts a full calendar over the next 12 months, meaning YBI Creative – together with Series Manager Steve Bettes – have more to manage then ever before.
YBI Creative Director Rob Sharp explained “It’s a pretty simple concept, we make nitro racing affordable for the teams, exciting for the fans and entertaining for the whole family and that means we take it to more people, more often.”
“The key to everything however, is that our show is about more than just drag racing, it’s about entertainment. It’s a genuine show, not just cars making passes.”
“The Nitro Sheriff wheelstander is probably the coolest thing there is according to the kids and it doesn’t race at all.”
The Nitro Sheriff is a wheelstanding exhibition vehicle that completes the entire drag strip on the rear wheels, bellowing fire and covered in flashing lights.
Sharp continued, “The format is about entertainment and our structure, the car themselves and everything we do is all about a show.
“That was Graeme’s (Cowin) vision from the very beginning and we are excited to be a part of it,” concluded Sharp.
Cowin himself added, “We have some great momentum and a good competitor base as well as great events and it’s going to continue to get bigger and better.”
“The tracks have been keen and we are continuing to work with them to deliver the package and we are excited to have YBI Creative on-board to continue to make things even better,” smiled Cowin.
