For the upcoming Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car event at the Perth Motorplex, the partisan local crowd will have someone to cheer for, with the West Australian-based ‘Nitro Madness’ funny car to be piloted by young hot-shoe, Nathan Coles.
Nathan Coles is based out of Northern Australia but he didn’t have to be asked twice to make the trip when asked about the opportunity to race the Michael Brooks-owned Camaro in WA.
An accomplished driver, Coles has been racing for many years in blown cars before making the transition to outlaw nitro funny cars.
“I have to thank Michael Brooks for the opportunity, this field contains some of the best drivers in Australia as well as some of the coolest and baddest cars and to be given the keys to Nitro Madness to take them on in Perth, is about as good as it gets!” enthused Coles.
“The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series is about entertainment and putting on a show for the crowd and to have a local car in the mix is always great for the crowd!
“I can’t wait to get to the startline and to stand on the throttle,” beamed Coles.
Series Manager for the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car, Morice McMillin added, “Perth Motorplex is one of the best racetracks in the country. The support from the officials and staff as well as the incredible standards of professionalism and organisation are second to none, it’s a pleasure to race in WA.”
“Last year, we were just amazed by how big the crowd was and how welcoming the local fans were to the funny cars. The vibe around the pits was amazing and we have been eager to come back ever since we arrived for that first event.
“To start the year off in this way is first class, and we will do everything we can to put on a first class show for the WA race fans!
“Be at Perth Motorplex from 5pm for the ‘Salute to the Crowd’, where all of the cars will fire up at once along the drag strip. You’ll have some time to go and check out the cars up close in the pits then before racing kicks off at 6pm!” concluded McMillin.
