Rule submission period now open

ANDRA members wishing to put in rule proposals should note that the period for submissions is now open. Members are invited to send in their rule proposals and have their say in the future of the sport.

Run but not won – Round 4 NSW Championship

Brrrrr!…That would best summise the non event that was Round 4 of the NSW Championships and Sydney Dragway. A cold snap and chilling gusty breeze that brought snow to many parts of NSW also sent track temperature plummeting to levels deemed unsafe by racers and officials causing the cancellation of the event with only a few brackets completing any rounds of eliminations.

There’s no place like home for Kolaroff

The October 20 season opener for the 2012/13 ANDRA Drag Racing Series will see the return of the Pro Stock championship to Adelaide for the first time in over a decade, with a group of local racers keen to show off their skills in front of the South Australian audience.

The Quarter Mile Smile is retired from racing but Bob Shepherd may have to change that moniker as Burnout Bob took to Sydney Dragway’s burnout pad last Wednesday night with doughnuts and heli’s in an attempt to fry and shred a set of steel belts.

Phillips wins in the Top End

In his first visit to Darwin in the Northern Territory in twenty one years, former Top Doorslammer Australian champ, Gary Phillips has claimed his first official Slamfest win last Saturday. With a last minute promoters decision to make the event a quarter mile contest as opposed to the traditional Slamfest eighth mile format, the hungry Darwin crowd were keen to see full track racing, and Phillips was quick to make his mark qualifying third.

Pre-season testing hots up

The ANDRA Drag Racing Series will see a new team entering the fray in Top Fuel this season with Peter Xiberras’s Sydney-based PremiAir outfit to make its debut with Luke Shepherd doing the driving duties.
