The Australian Pro Street Association (APSA) is proud to announce new season points series will now start at Calder Park Raceway on the 18th of February 2012.

It has been sometime since my last Chairman’s Statement. We have been very busy over the past few months and although many of our efforts may not be immediately obvious I believe the work of the staff and the new Board will result in a better 2012 and a still better 2013. There is still a lot of work to do. I thank you for your continued support and trust you will continue to work with us to ensure your venue remains the “place to race”. I want to bring you up to date on some issues.

ANDRA hosted a successful Drag Racing summit, held at Sydney Dragway last weekend. Delegates from all over the country attended from various stakeholder groups to identify the prime objectives required for drag racing to secure a new and exciting future.

Four-time Australian Funny Car Champions Peter and Helen Russo will debut a brand new Australian-built nitro Funny Car at this weekend’s NHRA Big O Tires Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (27-30 October).

The Australian Super Gas Racers will run a four-round Southern Super Gas Series this drag racing season, with three dates confirmed.

Long time Super Gas competitor David Gauldie has debuted his new weapon in a bid for another Super Gas national title.

The candidates are all locked in, the program has been set and all is in readiness for two days of action packed drag racing discussions.

The 2011 Fuchs Australian Nationals continued Sydney Dragway’s strong recent event performance, great crowds and sensational on track racing.

The  final round of the Queensland Street Car Magazine 2011 Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series was held at western Queensland’s Ironbark Raceway on the weekend.

The 2011 Track Championship Series came to a thrilling end on Saturday night at Hidden Valley Drag Strip where the series came down to the final passes of the season.
