Ballarat drag racer Matt Forbes struck gold in Sydney twice on the weekend, claiming two major trophies on the same day.

It was the final curtain on the most grueling championship in Australian drag racing history, full of agony and ecstasy the Australian Nationals despite the hellish conditions at times delivered a fitting close to the season.  Check out all the colour in these photos.
