ANDRA has released its historic 2014 calendar for both the ANDRA Drag Racing Series and the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship.

Yes that’s right the REAL Judgement Day is on at Sydney Dragway on Saturday the 21st September… Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars along with Pre 1978 Aussie and American muscle cars go head to head on the Drag Strip! Action gets under way at 10:00am til we take a short lunch break around midday while we sort out the competitors in readiness for the battle on the track … and then there will be plenty of time for some good old fashion grudge racing until we finish on the track at around 6:00pm. There will be a Show ‘n’ Shine section. If you have a cool ride and just want to show it off for the day you just pay the normal spectator admission at the gate. Then drive right in to the special Show ‘n’ Shine section up on the East Bank overlooking all of the action on track.

The nation’s premier import and lifestyle event will burst into life this weekend at Willowbank Raceway with more than 280 entrants already signed up to take part.

  Gladstone will play host to the final round of the 2013 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series later this month when an estimated 100 plus racers head to Benaraby Raceway for the fourth and final round of the Series on Saturday 28 September.

Current and Five time Australian ANDRA National Champion, John Zappia heads to Adelaide for Round 7 of the Top Doorslammer Championship at the Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals to be held over 20th – 21st September, and is quietly confident the Fuchs Lubricants / Striker Crushing Monaro will perform well over the reduced 1,000 foot event.

      Rising star Jess Turner could be on her way to a top ten finish in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship in her first full season of Modified – and all before she has even finished high school. The 18 year old Victorian driver currently sits eighth in the standings and with this weekend’s Lady Daly Hotel Springnationals at Adelaide International Raceway is poised to make a move even further up the ranks.

Murray O’Connor has enjoyed one of his best seasons yet in the ANDRA Top Doorslammer series and he hopes his privateer outfit can continue to be a rival to bigger, more well-funded teams.

The GAS Motorsport Mustang steered by Zoran Gajic narrowly eclipsed Rob Campisi’s quickest Australian turbo powered elapsed time mark of 5.958 with a 5.954 second run last weekend during the SuperNats at Sydney Dragway.
