In an exciting development for South Australian motorsport fans, the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) and Racing Onn Promotions have commenced negotiations to bring the ANDRA Pro Series to Adelaide International Raceway on April 14 and 15.

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) board has approved the use of shorter racing distances including eighth mile (201.1 metres) and 1000 feet (304.8 metres) for championship racing.  

Those familiar with the Heathcote Park Boxing Day Challenge will be pleased to hear that there is a brand new surface waiting to test the mettle of Victorian Drag Racers, with 420 feet of freshly laid concrete stretching out from the startline to offer superior traction and lightning quick launches.

In an example of just how tough Perth drag racing has become, Rob Pilkington missed making the final by mere hundredths of a second at the second round of the WA Top Comp championship.

Drag racing in north-western Victoria could get a boost depending on the results of a business plan from Swan Hill Rural City Council.

The second round of the ANDRA Pro Series for Top Fuel at Perth Motorplex featured five cars for Top Fuel and four bikes for Top Bike, not exactly the best fields ever seen in the West but capable of providing good racing nonetheless.

In the last 12 months, there have been a number of significant changes taking place to the drag racing landscape in Australia, not the least being the restructure of ANDRA Ltd board, which we support.

In some very sad news to report before Christmas, very popular ACT racer Dennis Moreau passed away suddenly today, and last week NSW racer Sean Brown also passed unexpectedly.

A change in licensing and vehicle equipment regulations will allow racers of high performance, off street vehicles to continue to participate in the safety of Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) sanctioned off street events.
