Mark Drew will be tackling Australia’s biggest drag racing event, the Fuchs Winternationals, with a brand new ride as he attempts to claim his first Top Fuel Motorcycle championship.
Drew said as it is his 25th year of racing between nitro bikes and speedway sidecars he has decided to race every Top Fuel Motorcycle round.
“It’s my first attempt at an Australian championship in Top Bike,” he said.
As part of the extended campaign, Drew has imported the motorcycle Doug Horne rode in the NHRA and AHDRA.
“The bike was running 6.2s and 6.3s there,” he said. “It’s a 2010 Weekend frame with a 191 cube motor, two speed B&J, pretty much the same as the last two bikes I’ve sold over the last 18 months.”
Drew will also be competing at the Australian Speedway Championship next Easter at Alice Springs.
