Sam and Lorenzo Gullotto's record setting LS-powered Pontiac graces the cover of Drag News Magazine's 40th issue.

Following feedback from our readers, this issue of Drag News Magazine is more feature dense with an effort to cover all parts of the sport. Whether you like your drag racing on four wheels or two, turbocharged or naturally aspirated, eight cylinders or six, there is something for you in this issue.

Our cover feature tells the story of Australia's quickest LS-powered drag car, a combined effort between two brothers who have gravitated towards different parts of the sport. Sam Gullotto almost retired from the sport with a health scare, but it was his brother's enthusiasm that brought him back.

Jason Arbery travelled thousands of kilometres in his pursuit of a second John Storm Memorial Trophy, an effort that has positioned him as one of the all time great sportsman drivers in Australia. We take a look at his winning Ford Capri and hear from the champ himself.

Luke Crowley claimed one of the last great barriers in Australian professional drag racing with a historic six second run on his Pro Bike in Sydney - he spills the beans on the crucial adjustment that made all the difference. Also on two wheels, Danny Rickard tells us about his move to a beautiful new nitro v-twin.

In our sport compact feature, Rod Harvey is back on the fray for the overall sport compact world record and believes he finally has the equipment to chase down the record once again. He discusses the development of his new car and whether or not he will ever leave the 2JZ world.

Plus, we wax lyrical on the future of four wide, including if we will ever see a four lane drag strip in Australia, and take in our feature event for this issue, the Easter Supercharged Shootout at Mildura.

Drag News Magazine focuses on the women in Australian drag racing who are making an impact for its 27th issue. Our sport is one of the most diverse and we wanted to showcase that fact.

Kelly Bettes takes the cover, having recently ascended to the seat of the Lamattina Top Fuel Racing dragster. There she has been on the learning curve of her life, but the former Australian Modified champion definitely has what it takes to be a future champion.

In editor Luke Nieuwhof's life, women in drag racing has been anything but unusual as he watched his mother race to state championships on drag bikes. But now it his sister who has taken over and made her mark in the sport.

Bettes is not the only up and coming woman in nitro, with Emma Begley taking on the short wheelbase Funny Cars. We talk to her about the role of her father in teaching her the ins and outs of nitro and how to make progress on a timeline you set.

Drag News Magazine Issue 26 (Print Copy) - $9.95 plus postage

Drag racing heaps much of its glory on its drivers, but there is no doubt that it is the tuners behind the scenes who are often responsible for the performances we see on the strip.

Drag News Magazine issue 26 celebrates those people – the innovators, the creators and the hard workers. Their faces may be new to you, but their stories are some of the most interesting in the sport.

Taking the cover of issue 26 are the Rapisarda brothers, Santo Jr and Santino, who both tuned Top Fuel dragsters into the 4.4 second zone for the first time in June. The historic feat is made all the more amazing by the fact they have only just turned 24.

Queensland's Noonan Race Engineering is an Australian success story, delivering billet cylinder head and block technology to some of the quickest methanol-fuelled teams in the world. Jamie Noonan, no strange to racing success in the driver's seat himself, takes us on the journey.

Darren Mayer is the man when it comes to building roots-style superchargers and he has recently been a more familiar face on Australian shores as the crew chief for Scott MacLean's Top Doorslammer and Top Alcohol team. We were lucky enough to hear his story, going from a humble Army mechanic to a world expert on mechanical boost.

If you're a fan of the sport and wondering how you could ever match it with some of these names, maybe Paul Drady should be an inspiration. He was a self described 'stalker' at the ropes of Pro Stock racer Lee Bektash's pit area until one day he was asked to come on board and help the team out. Since then his skills have grown to cover every aspect of the operation.

In an issue packed with good reading, New Zealand crew member extraordinaire Bronson Dunne and 2JZ tuner Milos Pavlovic also feature, while we look at what a great event the rained out Gulf Western Oil Winternationals might have been.
