Nitro Funny Car newcomer Adam Murrihy will be one to watch amongst a top-notch field of Funny Car racers as they kick off their championship chase at Sydney Dragway this weekend.

The familiar sight of a Reed Racing Pro Alcohol Funny Car competing will continue when the inaugural NDRC Pro Alcohol Championship kicks off this week at Sydney Dragway for the Sydney Nationals – except it won’t be Steven in the cockpit.

Amongst a bustling entry list of almost 200 racers for this Friday and Saturday’s Sydney Nationals, NDRC FuelTech Pro Mod racer Joe Gauci is particularly excited to hit the track as he gets ready to make his group one debut.

35,000-plus race fans were treated to incredible Top Fuel performances at the bracket’s NDRC season opening Spring Nationals at the weekend, including 13 three second passes and five side-by-side ‘threes’, with six of those three second passes run at more than 500kph.

Peter Xiberras and the PremiAir Racing Top Fuel Dragster, accompanied by new sponsors Nulon and GEARWRENCH, have raced to 3rd position in the opening round of the NDRC Top Fuel Championship with a B-Final victory over Phil Lamattina at Dragway at the Bend.

The first round of the brand-new National Drag Racing Championship was presented by Australia’s brand new world class drag racing facility, Dragway at The Bend. More than 300 racers and 30,000 spectators created an incredible atmosphere for the first major event at what proved to be an amazing venue with a super-fast racing surface. There were some incredible individual and category performances and the venue, officials, and competitors shined throughout a great occasion for drag racing in Australia.

The Spring Nationals at the brand-new Dragway at The Bend, featuring more than 300+ Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series competitors alongside group one racers for NDRC Top Fuel, Dananni Hot Shots Top Doorslammer, Top Fuel Motorcycle and Pro Stock Motorcycle, saw drag racing come back to South Australia in exceptional style at the weekend.

By the end of the grand-opening Spring Nationals at the brand-new Dragway at The Bend, more than 35,000 race fans delighted in an incredible weekend of racing thanks to the new National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC).

The grand-opening Spring Nationals for Dragway at The Bend, featuring the latest round of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, saw more than 350 racers put on a show for a sold-out capacity crowd of 20,532 today.

A sell-out crowd of 20,532 has revelled in the delights of the new National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) today, with a similar sized crowd expected for tomorrow’s race day Sunday (22 October).

Two huge drag racing events for the new National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) are just around the corner – this weekend’s Spring Nationals at the brand-new Dragway at The Bend (October 21/22), and next weekend’s Sydney Nationals at Sydney Dragway (October 27/28).

The upgrades to Willowbank Raceway continue at a steady pace, with the major component in pouring the concrete portion of the racing surface now complete and into its 28 day curing phase.

The opening round of the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship (ATDC) will take place this weekend at the Spring Nationals, the first major event at the brand new Dragway at The Bend.
