The 2019 Garrett Advancing Motion Sydney Jamboree presented by Link ECU and Tuners Edge will host more than 140 racers on-track while a festival of off-track entertainment buzzes around them all day and into the night on Saturday March 16.
On the track, an intense pursuit for the coveted Billet ‘J’ trophy as well as domestic and international records will play out across the Precision Turbo Factory Xtreme, McKern Pro Compact, Bosch Motorsport Pro Turbo, Fuel Tech IHRA Pro Mod, NAPA Auto Super Store Mod Compact, RCE Performance Warehouse J275, J315, Power Seals Mod 10.5, Hurstville Towing ST 289, Maintenance Services Group All Motor and MTQ Street Compact categories.
Alongside the prestigious event trophies, PWR Performance Products will also be offering the PWR Cash Boost which rewards the most consistent qualifying performances in the Factory Xtreme, Pro Turbo and Pro Compact classes.
Off the track, a large entertainment precinct on the ‘Eastern Bank’ of the venue will be the place to go for the always popular Shannons Show N Shine, the huge Dragster slide for the kids, the Soundwarz Soundoff and the all-new Jamboree stage complete with big screen backdrop which will host the Kaitlin Bartle dancers as well as Babe & Bikini competitions. At the same time, the Hi Tec Oils Drift Australia Exhibition will entertain racers and fans alike in the pit area.
“The Garrett Sydney Jamboree is growing from strength to strength and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store,” Jamboree Australia Director, Collin Willshire, said.
“With more than 140 entries ready to give it everything they’ve got on the drag strip and a huge array of off-track entertainment around the Sydney Dragway precinct, this event will have something for everyone and is not to be missed.
“Jamboree features Australia’s best sports compact racers on the entry list and plenty of them have already been out testing their machines to make sure they can bring their A-game to the event.
“For instance, Steve Bezzina in his Dandy Engines-prepared J275 Ford Fairmont cracked a six-second ET for the very first time on Thursday and Robert Marjan in the Croydon Racing Development Nissan GTR-32 just became the first GT-R in the world to run a six second pass (6.97s/202mph).
“With the Jamboree having long been held up as an event at which records are broken, I expect to see plenty more tumble next Saturday.”
The Garrett Advancing Motion Sydney Jamboree will take place at Sydney Dragway on Saturday March 16, with on-track action underway from 8.30am. For more information, visit www.jamboree.com.au
