Lamattina Top Fuel Racing delivered a powerful performance at its home event at the iconic Sunset Strip in Mildura this weekend, showcasing strong qualifying speed across both Top Fuel entries before weather brought racing to an early close.

The 2026 BLAHST Australian Top Fuel Championship has exploded into action at Mildura’s Sunset Strip this evening, with qualifying for its season opening Twilight Nationals completed ahead of Saturday’s racing at the popular regional drag racing facility.

Willburn Racing is set to turn heads this weekend as they unveil a brand-new vinyl wrap on their iconic Supercharged Outlaws funny car at the upcoming NDRC Twilight Nationals event in Mildura that will feature Top Fuel and the NDRC Aeroflow Sportsman Series.

The BLAHST Australian Top Fuel Championship will come thundering into Mildura this week, with the NDRC Twilight Nationals set to host intense racing action from these 11,000hp flame-throwing monster machines at the Sunset Strip across Friday and Saturday (27-28 February).

BLAHST has been confirmed as the Naming Rights Sponsor of the Australian Top Fuel Championship for 2026 under the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC), marking a major new partnership at the pinnacle of Australian drag racing.

LTFR smashed the South Coast Raceway track record not once, but twice over the weekend at the venue’s 20th Anniversary Spectacular. In a handy hit-out ahead of the opening round of the NDRC Top Fuel Championship in a few weeks’ time, the FUCHS Lubricants dragster laid down a blistering 3.33s pass before backing it up with an even quicker 3.261s at 219.41mph, resetting the track benchmark yet again.

Damon Paton made his A-Final debut in the XPRO Nitro Funny Car championship at the 2024/2025 finale back in November, and on January 24, he qualified for his second – this time at the 2026 season opener (Willowbank Raceway’s Pro Alcohol Nationals).

The first event of the new NDRC season raced out of the blocks this weekend with the biggest entry list in Australian drag racing for 2026 so far seeing 170 racers – including almost 150 sportsman racers – hitting Willowbank Raceway for the opening rounds of the new NDRC XPRO Nitro Funny Car, Pro Alcohol, and Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship title chases.
