A few shots from a heat soaked Sunset Strip in Mildura for last weekend’s Twilight Nationals, featuring the penultimate round of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.

The penultimate round of the 2022/2023 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, the Twilight Nationals, concluded in style on Saturday evening at Mildura’s Sunset Strip, setting the stage for what is sure to be an intense ANDRA Grand Final fight in just two weeks’ time (Perth Motorplex, March 4/5).

Blistering hot conditions at Mildura’s Sunset Strip on Friday, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s, were matched by sizzling performances from more than 150 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series competitors during day one of the 2023 Twilight Nationals.

It is a West Australian drag racing icon, a ‘Boston Strangler’ branded funny car has been fixture of the West for decades. With next generation racer Madison Brown now behind the butterfly wheel, the name is heading east with the team making the long haul to Mildura’s Sunset Strip, chasing an Australian title.

There are plenty of regional drag racing tracks scattered around the country, most have made their 2023 schedules available. The popular MPrint Industries Sunset Strip Junior Nationals was back at Mildura’s Sunset Strip for the 2022 edition, and it was another great weekend of racing for the future stars of the sport.

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) and the Sunraysia Drag Racing Association (SDRA) regret to announce the cancellation of the Sunset Strip Nationals.

Recent wet weather at Mildura’s Sunset Strip, combined with forecast further rain over the coming week, has forced the postponement of the Sunset Strip Nationals from September 18/19 to October 8/9.
