The Australian National Drag Racing Association Ltd (ANDRA) Board announces the appointment of Mr Greg Humphreys as Chief Executive Officer of ANDRA effective immediately.
The new Sydney Dragway racing season has been launched with the rebranding of the track championship to the “NSW Drag Racing Championship Series”, for which the first round of six has been run and won.

Round Two of the NSW Championship Series is back over two big days on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of August and will feature Nitro Funny Car action.

Hot on the heels of Phillip Lamattina’s Eliminator Racing Series (ERS) proposal, Pro Series Drag Racing Australia (formerly known as DRAG Ltd) released yesterday their proposal for the ANDRA Pro Series. ANDRA has released a statement about the ERS, showing it is considering all options for the sport.

There has been much speculation about the ERS Proposal that has been developed and distributed by Phil Lamattina. ANDRA would like to advise that the proposal which was officially received on August 1 will be tabled for discussion at the next ANDRA Board meeting which is being held in Sydney on August 20/21.

Usually ANDRA would conduct it’s AGM around mid to late August, given that ANDRA Incorporated is now the Australian National Drag Racing Association Limited, the ASIC timeframes allow for the AGM to be conducted within five months of the end of the financial year.
Maurice Allen and his team can now report that the Team Milwaukee Tools Pro Stock Bike Team has been able to wrap up the 2011 ANDRA Pro Series Championship this year.

It has been a horror season for the sport, perhaps its worst, even ignoring the off track rumblings, Mother Nature truly was unkind. The Winternationals finale was a race in two parts and in the end was mercifully put down after attempted combined seven days of effort.
