With Shane Tucker heading overseas to pursue racing opportunities in the NHRA what has become of his Monster Energy GXP?

Watching unsuspecting members of the public sucking in the nitro fumes of a Top Fuel warm up blissfully unaware they about to have their ear drums assaulted.

Round 3 of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Series was held on Saturday August 3.  A glorious Queensland day greeted series organiser John “Stomper” Winterburn and the 100 odd competitors on the day which was run using the three round format.

  The Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship continued its tour of regional tracks with Benarby Raceway hosting round eight of the series, the first time the venue has held a championship round.

  Alice Springs drag racer Mark Probst will get a chance to compete in the ANDRA Drag Racing Series for the first time in his home state at next weekend’s Top Alcohol championship round at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Drag Strip.

The “Greatest rides on show” is the tag line for Meguiars Motor Ex, the most prestigious motor show in the country. Not only is the event used to showcase the country’s greatest custom street machines and hot rods, it is increasingly being used to debut the latest drag racing creations, with the number of drag racing vehicles on display growing each year.

  The next ANDRA Drag Racing Series event will be a historic occasion when Top Alcohol and Top Bike race for championship points at Hidden Valley Drag Strip for the first time.

This Saturday and Sunday (3 and 4 August 2013) will see Willowbank Raceway overrun with non-stop action with two events taking place on the same weekend.

After recently announcing his retirement from racing in Australia, Shane Tucker has confirmed he will be racing in the NHRA Series, with Rob Tucker Racing relocating to the US to take on the world’s best.

The Willowbank Raceway Management Committee has today announced that long-time manager Steve Bettes has moved on from the facility.
