John Zappia claimed an unprecedented tenth ANDRA Top Doorslammer Series title with his Fuchs Holden Monaro on Sunday at Perth Motorplex’s Westernationals, adding to his record of dominance in one of Australian drag racing’s most competitive categories – and winning the Westernationals on his home turf was an added bonus.

The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series has taken another enormous step as the entertainment-based tour now heading overseas with a visit to Meremere Dragway in New Zealand.

Team Bray Racing felt the heat at the weekend’s Westernationals (Perth, March 4-5) in more ways than one, but that hasn’t stopped them from feeling positive as they leave the venue to prepare for a busy month ahead.

As Willowbank Raceway prepares to celebrate the 50th running of the Winternationals (June 8-11, 2017), its management is pleased to announce the signing of Gulf Western Oil as the marquee event’s new naming rights sponsor.

It was another hot and humid day that greeted racers and fans for day two of the 46th Westernationals, however the action on the track was even hotter with John Zappia taking home another Top Doorslammer victory and more ANDRA gold.

When the news let it be known that the forecast over the weekend was for hot and humid temperatures in the high 30’s, it was game on. Saturday’s qualifying saw even the toughest racers struggle during the sessions where track temps reached around 120 degrees.

The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series has returned to the beautiful South Coast Raceway and the 4000 horsepower nitro coupes put on an amazing show for the Victorian fans, culminating in one of the closest final rounds in the series’ history.
