Perth Motorplex has announced the appointment of Dean Neal as the new Drag Racing Manager. Perth Motorplex General Manager, Kevin Prendergast said, “We have great pleasure in welcoming Dean Neal to our team. Drayton’s Nathan Jannusch is looking to achieve a trio of ‘three from three’ results when he heads to his home-track of Warwick Dragway next weekend for round three of the JP Racing Queensland Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series.

The inaugural Hidden Valley round of the national Slamfest Series has already broken records and it’s still over a week away.

Local pre event press had suggested that this would be the best ever event for the Benaraby Raceway and the 32 year old track lived up to expectations. With spectator cars lined up for almost half a kilometre to get into the venue, event organisers called for the Doorslammer to delay the start of qualifying.

A hotly contested Round 4 of the Track Championship Series was seen at Hidden Valley Drag Strip on Saturday night where for the first time this season Dieter Herrmann was knocked off the first place podium.

Opening on 7th September 1980, the Golding Quarter was a seven year project for the Port Curtis Drag Racing Club.  Golding Quarter was named after the Golding Earth Moving Company and its owner Don Golding, whose earthmoving equipment was used in the construction.

Recently the ANDRA Board reviewed some of the recommendations of the National Rules Committee (NRC). The items addressed changes to the current ANDRA rules as proposed through rule submissions, in addition to changes to policies, rulings and other matters raised through the NRC in the interests of improving current standards.

A near capacity crowd turned up for the 2012 Trevor Mobb’s  Memorial 8th mile Slamfest round. The event no doubt will go down in history as the best ever event held at the Townsville dragway.
