The first Eastern Conference event of the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship, part of the recently established National Drag Racing Championship, has delighted racers and spectators alike in picture perfect weather conditions at Springmount Raceway.
North Queensland’s drag racers are set to take on droves of travelling racers at their home-track of Springmount Raceway this weekend, as the venue hosts the first ‘Eastern Conference’ round of the new Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship.
Next weekend’s Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship event at Springmount Raceway – part of the newly established National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) – is attracting racers from far and wide.

‘Just f’n send it’ might as well be the unofficial calling for Australia’s wildest drag racing event. Grudge Kings was back for 2023 at Sydney Dragway, where any engine denomination, and whether it’s blown, turbo, nitrous or just the most cubic inches money can buy, it will feature at this event.
Reigning Australian Top Doorslammer champion Kelvin Lyle announced his retirement from drag racing recently following a terrible crash at the season-ending Nitro up North event in Darwin. He recently updated the drag racing world on his recovery and what happened on that night with crash.
It is feeling real now, the Dragway At The Bend’s construction is nearly at the finish line. The last touches are being applied and it won’t be long until horsepower is unleashed on Australia’s newest drag strip.
For South Queensland’s dedicated sportsman racers, there has been a couple of quick-fire Queensland Drag Racing Championship rounds in July, as the Willowbank Raceway squeezes in as much racing as possible before the venue shutdowns for the track upgrades
Testing is run and done, $5000 was won in the Small Tyre Smackdown, and we are prepped for race day at the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series at Sydney Dragway.
