A bumper 52nd MACTrack Westernationals at the Perth Motorplex was headlined by round 5 of the Burson Auto Part Australian Top Fuel Championship in conjunction with Australian Drag Racing Championship round of Top Doorslammer and Top Bike plus the ANDRA Grand Finals for the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.
The competitors of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship, Australian Drag Racing Championship (ADRC) Top Doorslammer and ADRC Top Fuel Motorcycle are counting down the hours to race day at the Perth Motorplex following the successful conclusion of Westernationals qualifying on Saturday evening (March 4).
The Perth Motorplex will play host to plenty of nitro power this weekend at the MAC Track Westernationals across March 4 and 5.
With the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship and Australian Drag Racing Championship firing up for their next round at the 52nd Mac Track Westernationals this weekend in Perth, here is another massive gallery from the last event to get everyone pumped.
The Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam at Sydney Dragway saw the completion of two Australian Top Doorslammer Championship finals in a single day, but it was one man who would leave with both trophies on an emotional weekend. Following the tragic events at Willowbank Raceway’s New Year Nitro, the third round of the series, the A and B Finals were postponed to the second qualifying session in Sydney.
Daniel Gregorini finished his east coast tour with a spot in the finals and some valuable points as he aims for a podium finish in the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship. The first destination was Willowbank Raceway, which hosted New Year Nitro early in January. It was Gregorini’s first time back at the Queensland venue in five years, but he qualified well with a 5.817 for third position.
With tickets flying out the door and racer entries maxed out, this Friday and Saturday’s Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam is set to be an epic celebration of the best of Australian drag racing.
For a motorsport event it is rare for the racing to take second place to anything else, but this weekend’s Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam at Sydney Dragway will be an emotional and moving occasion as the drag racing community pays tribute to Top Doorslammer driver Sam Fenech, who passed away following an accident at Willowbank Raceway on January 7.
Day one of the New Year Nitro event has opened 2023 with a bang at Willowbank Raceway this evening, with the stage now set for what is sure to be an epic day of racing tomorrow at the Ipswich (Queensland) venue.
