SLAMMER SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS ABOUND AS NITRO CHAMPS LOOMS
For a sport based rigidly on the principle of straight lines, the NDRC Australian Top Doorslammer Championship sure does have some twists and turns.

For a sport based rigidly on the principle of straight lines, the NDRC Australian Top Doorslammer Championship sure does have some twists and turns.

The highs and lows of drag racing are being experienced in full force by Scratch & Match Motorsport right now, with the Riverbend Nationals at The Bend Motorsports Park delivering another rollercoaster of emotions for the team.

By his own admission Canberra Doorslammer racer Jeremy Callaghan was looking at buying a boat on his way back from his ill-fated trip to the Westernationals last month. After rolling his immaculate Moits Motorsport 70.5 Camaro in his first battle on race day at the Motorplex and having had mechanical dramas at his first appearance at the Spring Nationals at The Bend “JC” was understandably disheartened.

After a dramatic crash just four weeks ago, Jeremy Callaghan returned to the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) in stunning style at the weekend —claiming his first-ever Gold NDRC Christmas Tree with an A-Final win during round five of the NDRC Top Doorslammer championship chase at the Riverbend Nationals.

The Riverbend Nationals have delivered another fantastic NDRC show to the delight of a packed crowd at Dragway at The Bend, culminating in dramatic finals action last Sunday afternoon.

History has been made at the Riverbend Nationals with the packed Dragway at The Bend crowd witnessing the quickest and fastest ever Top Fuel pass in Australian history during qualifying today ahead of Sunday’s racing for the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC).

Jeremy Callaghan will be have his stunning Camaro on track and ready to race at Dragway At The Bend this weekend for round 5 of the NDRC Australian Top Doorslammer Championship following his upside down ride and slide only a few weeks ago in Perth.

Lisa Gregorini has finished runner-up in the WA Top Doorslammer Championship ahead of a massive east coast tour with husband Daniel where the pair will rejoin the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship.

The 54th annual Electrical Group Training Westernationals proved a tough one for Scratch & Match Motorsport, with both Daniel and Lisa Gregorini battling a succession of issues on and off the track.

Picture this: You’re nineteen years old, and you’ve just been given the chance to drive an iconic Top Doorslammer under the watchful eye of your legendary uncle. You’d be forgiven for wanting to stay low-key—expecting a steep learning curve and a slow climb toward success.
