It is a new year for the Queensland Drag Racing Championship at Willowbank Raceway, but not a new season for the series. With the exception of Junior Dragster, the decision was made for the QDRC to continue of from last year after many of the rounds were lost to weather.

The Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam at Sydney Dragway saw the completion of two Australian Top Doorslammer Championship finals in a single day, but it was one man who would leave with both trophies on an emotional weekend. Following the tragic events at Willowbank Raceway’s New Year Nitro, the third round of the series, the A and B Finals were postponed to the second qualifying session in Sydney.

The penultimate round of the 2022/2023 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, the Twilight Nationals, concluded in style on Saturday evening at Mildura’s Sunset Strip, setting the stage for what is sure to be an intense ANDRA Grand Final fight in just two weeks’ time (Perth Motorplex, March 4/5).

Blistering hot conditions at Mildura’s Sunset Strip on Friday, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s, were matched by sizzling performances from more than 150 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series competitors during day one of the 2023 Twilight Nationals.

The Perth Motorplex 2023 year opened with their Night of Fire spectacular featuring flame throwing Jet Dragsters and the nitro breathing action of the Nitro Max series.

After COVID and weather events repeatedly derailed Street Machine Magazine’s Drag Challenge over recent years, the 2023 edition went into the books with 139 starters taking on 1600kms over 5 days at 3 venues.

More than 200 race teams came together from all over the country for this weekend’s Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam to race in front of a capacity crowd in honour of Sam Fenech and celebrate the sport he loved.
