Meguiar’s Motorex is the most prestigious car show in Australia, all the bling from the countries, finest street machines and hot rods was on display at Sydney Olympic Park on July 23rd and 24th.

Nostalgia drag racing is set to visit Hidden Valley this weekend as the Top End Nostalgia’s gets under way at 3pm on Saturday.

Willowbank Raceway will host the 9th annual ‘Mopar Sunday’ show this Sunday, July 31. Mopar enthusiasts will have the chance to either watch or take part in a range of events including drag racing, a dyno shootout, show and shine and a swap meet.

It has been six weeks since Sydney Dragway has seen any serious horsepower action with track works taking longer than planned. But the end result was a billiard table smooth surface that greeted over 140 racers last weekend for the first test and tune of the new season.

The 2011 Winternationals ended with an anti-climax with rain again disrupting racing during the event, in an unprecedented year of natural disasters and heavy rain in the east coast of Australia. The ANDRA Pro Series Top Doorslammer Series qualifying was completely washed out forcing the original qualifying order to be used, and the heavens opened up again on Willowbank International Raceway just prior to the finals – forcing another cancellation.

Weather did its best to derail the final round of the ANDRA Pro Series for the season at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals but Queensland local Shane Tucker and his team did a great job to get the Monster Energy-powered Monaro amongst the action in a crazy weekend of racing.

The Castrol EDGE Winternationals and the Australian Championships final round at Willowbank Raceway have concluded with the event being a total washout! ANDRA is extremely disappointed that such an important component of our events calendar has concluded in such a way. Notwithstanding that, ANDRA has already commenced planning a new “National Events Template” which will ensure that new risk mitigation strategies will be in place to prevent a re-occurrence of last weekend’s outcomes.
