Sydney Dragway fired into life for the first time in 2011 with a Test and Tune for racers to blow out the New Year cobwebs.
Any uncertainty concerning the March Pro Series meeting at Sydney Dragway was removed today when newly appointed Sydney Dragway Chairman Mr Sam Sofi announced the meeting would go ahead as planned. Mr Sofi said the meeting would now be held on Friday March 18 and Saturday March 19.
During the Test n Tune event at Sydney Dragway on the weekend (22/01/11) there was a silent auction held and various donations made from racers and fans throughout the day. A total of $876 was raised on the day and has been deposited into the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.
The board of Sydney Dragway has been suspended for six months and a full review is to take place into the company running the track according to reports.
A new entry was included in the 2011 ANDRA Rule Book regarding pre event (ANDRA Pro Series rounds) testing by Group One teams. This was an incorrect clause and the following change, effective immediately, has been made to ACR 5.27 on Page 174 of the ANDRA Rule Book.
A full eight car field will be racing at the fourth round of the Australian Top Fuel Championship in Perth on January 28 and 29.
The World’s Quickest Commodore was quick enough to produce smiles all round the Boomeracing crew as Maurice Brennan steered the fan favourite back into the low six second range at the Perth Motorplex last weekend.
