Rachelle Splatt has announced her return to Top Fuel via social media this morning, she last raced in the class back in 2018 with her Gulf Western Oil sponsored dragster.
January 2020 was the last time professional drag racing fired a shot in anger in Australia, as the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event restarted the longest championship series in history. The event was the penultimate round of the 400 Thunder championship for all brackets ahead of next month’s Winternationals and Mother Nature wasn’t going to let drag racing off easy with its comeback.
Jim Read Racing and the Hydraulink Top Fuel dragster will return to the track for the first time in over a year this Friday and Saturday at Sydney Dragway.
Willowbank Raceway is looking forward to a bumper crowd at the New Year’s Shootout event this weekend.
Willowbank Raceway has announced the replacement event for the lost New Year’s Thunder – the 400 Thunder championship event slated for January – due to COVID-19 restrictions. In its place will be the “New Year’s Shootout”, the venue’s statement on the event reads below:
