Every so often, a racetrack comes along that resets the bar. Right now, that place is The Bend Dragway in South Australia. Still the newest facility in Australian drag racing, it’s fast earning a reputation as the country’s ultimate benchmark — smooth, quick, and record-breaking.

Forty years on from its groundbreaking debut at the US Nationals, the iconic Aussie Raider is back. Today, that legacy lives on with the reveal of the 2025 Aussie Raider livery, a bold recreation of the original Funny Car that captured international attention in the 1980s.

The ACDelco Top Doorslammer team is thrilled to announce the addition of Brodie Zappia as their new driver. Brodie, a 20-year-old racing prodigy from Perth, brings a wealth of experience and a track record of success to the team.

The 2025 Pro Stock Championship has been decided ahead of the season’s final race, with John Barbagallo confirming he will not compete at the Spring Nationals at The Bend. His withdrawal removes the last remaining mathematical challenge to Rob Dekert, who now secures his second consecutive championship, cementing his place among the greats of Australian Pro Stock.

Race fans can expect a Top Fuel show for the ages at Dragway at The Bend’s Spring Nationals across October 3-5, with Hydraulink Jim Read Racing ready to bring the goods while championing an important message and sporting a bold new look.

If there’s a drag strip in Australia that feels like it belongs in a Mad Max film, it’s Alice Springs Dragway. Set against the backdrop of the rugged MacDonnell Ranges and surrounded by open desert, it’s a quarter mile that gets the job done — built tough, prepped well, and right in the heart of the outback.
