Jeffrey Clarke has made his name by racing a dragster in the Competition category but he has some grander plans ahead with a new Funny Car and a Pro Street Chevy Nova coming in from the US.

Meguiar’s MotorEx is Australia’s most prestigious car show, only accepting the best of the best of the country’s show cars for display. A number of drag racers also used the event to showcase their latest creations.

An industry source has given the tip that one of Australia’s most prominent Top Doorslammer teams will carry the Sidchrome name next season.

It may be many months away yet but the Perth Top Fuel round could shape up to be quite a biggy. Rumour is that there could be anywhere up to five local drivers contest the round, though four is more likely. Two will be obvious, with Martin Stamatis and Allan Dobson to be definite contenders, so who can guess the others? Add to that the regular touring teams of Read, Lamattina, Morgan, Mariani and potentially Cowin, plus the Shepherd and Sainty families who were considering the trip and it could be the biggest nitro round yet in the West.

The upcoming big buck Outlaw 10.5 Shootout at Willowbank Raceway is stirring quite a bit of interest, the latest snippet is that several top line Pro Stock teams are looking at bolting on a set of 10.5 tyres to mix the competition up.
