After setting their quickest pass of the season so far during qualifying for the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway Darren Morgan Racing (DMR) entered Eliminations among the favourites for the title but it wasn’t to be as the AEG Dragster was knocked out in the Semi Finals by eventual winner Mark Mariani.

The desire to go nitro racing is one many drag racers have, but there is more to nitro than ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel.

The lights are set to drop and the fun begins at the JSM John Sorensen Memorial on Friday 14 May at Hidden Valley Drag Strip.  The third event in the Beat the Heat Off Street Series is sure to pull a hungry crowd.

 As required by the ANDRA Constitution, “half elections” are held annually in each Division for Delegate positions on the six Divisional Councils. At the same time each year, elections are conducted for three of the six Division Director positions. In 2010, this occurred formally in South Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Day two of qualifying for the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway provided thrills in copious amounts as the ANDRA Pro Series completed qualifying rounds and the Rocket Allstars Racing Series began eliminations.

Stuart Bishop and his Diamond Doorslammer will face off against Sean Mifsud in round one of eliminations for Sydney’s Nitro Champs tomorrow after saving the best til last in qualifying this evening.

A cold night at Sydney Dragway led to an early finish of day one qualifying with conditions deemed unsafe to complete Top Fuel which was the only remaining bracket.

Shane Tucker has a new sponsor aboard for a multi-year deal with his Pro Stock team, starting from this weekend’s Nitro Champs event in Sydney.

John Zappia and his Zappia Racing Team are in Sydney for the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway this weekend, and is dangerously lurking in second place in the ANDRA Pro Series Top Doorslammer Championship.
