2021 was another challenging year in drag racing, but the Queensland Drag Racing Championship at Willowbank Raceway did run to a conclusion, with this year’s Track Champions crowned after the finale.
The Kenda Tires Radial 660 Drag Radial Series has pushed on during the pandemic with the running of Radial Riot at Willowbank Raceway. Entrant numbers picked up despite interstate cars still unable to cross the border, and even though accidents and stoppages pushed the event past a 1am finish, the event again delivered classic wheels up drag radial action.
The 2021 Brisbane Jamboree had a rough time, with COVID forcing a postponement before Mother Nature had the final say on the second attempt. However it couldn’t dampen the spirits with the Halloween themed event still bringing a fun atmosphere.
The penultimate event of the Queensland Drag Racing Championships at Willowbank Raceway succumbed to the weather gods around the second round of the predominately Chicago Shootout event format.
Old skool was back in play again at Willowbank Raceway in a low key event. Great to see plenty of drag racing classics blowing off the dust for a cool laid back day at the track.
A new grudge racing initiative by Dean Ferris was a huge success at its first outing last weekend at Willowbank Raceway, where Jason Seng took home the winner takes all $5000 cash prize.

Round five of the Queensland Drag Racing Championship ran relatively smoothly to completion as the series heads for the finish line when a new batch of Willowbank Raceway Track Champions will be crowned.
