Josh Leahy is prepared to return to winning form at this Friday night’s Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car showdown in Darwin.

This Friday June 18, the Hidden Valley Drag Strip will host an epic Nitro Up North show to the delight of drag racing and Supercars fans alike as a major feature of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Supercars round.

The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series will air live on Fox Sports and 7+ from 7pm to 10.30pm this Friday, June 18. The awesome coverage comes as the funny car series and ever popular Nitro Up North event joins forces with the Supercars and Australian Superbikes championships for the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Round four of the Atura NSW Championship is the last before the series goes into a Winter break, giving teams a chance to regroup after a hectic few months and return in hopefully more favourable weather conditions after rain again affected another series event.

Drag News Magazine wishes to announce that we will no longer be able to cover 400 Thunder drag racing events beginning with this weekend’s Winternationals.

Australian Pro Stock’s newest racer, Mario Polito made his long-awaited debut at the uber-successful Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder round on Saturday, May 8 at Sydney Dragway. While the Sydneysider didn’t score any round wins, the game-plan for the weekend was simply about taking the JD Concrete-sponsored Chevy Cobalt to half track.

Steven Reed’s affliction of good results at Sydney Dragway continued with the Allstar Batteries Pro Alcohol funny car winning over a stellar field of racers, while Justin Walshe starred with a alky altered world record.

January 2020 was the last time professional drag racing fired a shot in anger in Australia, as the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event restarted the longest championship series in history. The event was the penultimate round of the 400 Thunder championship for all brackets ahead of next month’s Winternationals and Mother Nature wasn’t going to let drag racing off easy with its comeback.
